WHO I AM

My name is Jenny van der Mark, born and raised in The Hague, the Netherlands. After finishing my medical studies at the University of Leiden I completed the residency in cardio-thoracic surgery and worked as a surgeon for over 15 years.

In 2006 I decided to move to Spain and start a new life on the Costa del Sol. As a doctor I went back to basics and made a new start as general practitioner, E&A and ambulance doctor.

All in all I have over 30 years of experience as MD, in various functions (general and as specialist) and in different places.

I have realised that as a doctor I prefer to work differently than is usual in a hospital or health care centre; more contact with and time for the people and more follow up possibilities.

I speak 4 languages, Dutch, English, German and Spanish  and I have established many contacts in the area and have learned how the Spanish healthcare system (both public and private) functions which allows me to refer you in the best way if necessary. 

WHAT I WANT TO DO FOR YOU

What I, as a doctor want to offer you apart from good medical care, is the time and attention you deserve as a patient so you have a good understanding of the diagnosis and the treatment and get answers to your questions in an understandable language.

To assure enough time for each patient and to limit waiting times I work on appointment only.

With my surgical experience I can perform small procedures and I have an EKG machine at my disposal so you do not need to go to a hospital for these. 

I also work together with some registered nurses so I can help you with issues in that field as well. 

WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME

I have my surgery in the ¨Clínica Santolaya¨, a medical-dental centre in Fuengirola.

Situated on the Paseo Jesús Santos Rein (nº 17A, close to the ¨horses roundabout¨) it is within walking distance from the bus and train station and has parking possibilities nearby in the street, the parking of the central market (paid) or on the Feria ground (free).
